SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Shreveport woman is in jail after police say she stabbed her significant other in the head with a screwdriver following an argument.

Police say 47-year-old Theresa Puryear was arrested and charged with aggravated battery after stabbing 50-year-old Curtis Sweat. The incident happened just before 6 a.m. Wednesday in the 2800 block of Murphy Street.

Police say the screwdriver grazed Sweat's head, and his injuries were minor. He did not want to go the hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.
