Chief Meteorologist Jeff Castle - KSLA News 12 Shreveport, Louisiana News Weather & Sports

Chief Meteorologist Jeff Castle

Chief Meteorologist Jeff Castle joined the KSLA Stormtracker 12 team in June of 2014.  Jeff was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio, but has spent most of his career in Tornado Alley and Dixie Alley, tracking storms in Texas, Oklahoma and most recently Alabama.

Jeff worked through the devastating tornado outbreak of April 27th, 2011.  That experience reinforced his belief that the most important part of his job is providing critical, life-saving information in times of severe weather.  Jeff will devote all his efforts to keep you and your family safe during severe weather on-air and via our digital platforms.

Jeff received his Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma.  He then moved on to graduate school in Seattle, receiving a Master of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington.  Jeff has obtained the "Certified Broadcast Meteorologist" designation from the American Meteorological Society.

Before arriving at KSLA, Jeff spent 12 years at our sister station, WAFF, in Huntsville, Alabama. Prior to that he worked at KOCO in Oklahoma City and KFDA in Amarillo, TX.  Jeff got his start in television at WKEF in Dayton, Ohio just a county away from his home town.

When he's not tracking storms, Jeff likes to travel, read and collect comic books, and research his family tree.
