WORCESTER, MA (WSHM) -

A man who had been using a false identity under two separate driver's licenses was arrested Thursday, which led troopers to 1,100 pounds of marijuana that was being stashed in his apartment, state police said.

Police were still trying to verify the man's real identity as of Friday morning.

Troopers learned last week that a man using the name Calos Martinez was driving a car that was register under a false identity. Police investigated further and, with assistance from the Commonwealth Fusion Center and the Registry of Motor Vehicles, learned of a second driver's license that had a false social security number attached to it, according to state police.

Police saw the suspect driving his vehicle in Worcester on Thursday and arrested him. They then secured a search warrant for his 188 Massasoit Rd. apartment.

Once inside, troopers found that the residence was a stash location for about 1,100 pounds of marijuana, police said.

While the suspect was being booked his fingerprints indicated that he had previously used the alias Saul Marquez, but further investigation revealed that neither name was his real identity, police said.

State police estimated the street value of the marijuana at $1 million, according to the arrest report.

Police did not reveal the charges that were filed against the man. CBS 3 will provide updates as they are made available.
