HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

We start this morning with widespread fog. Visibilities could drop to a half mile or less in some isolated spots. This will dissipate by mid morning as showers track in from the west.

Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible throughout the day today. Temperatures will only climb into the low 80s. Heavy rainfall over already saturated grounds could lead to some flash flooding.

Much of this evening should be dry with patchy fog developing towards daybreak Saturday. Some spotty showers are possible on Saturday but it will be not be a washout. The chance for rain is 40 percent.High temperatures will be in the mid and upper 80s.

Rain chances dwindle to only an isolated pop-up afternoon thunderstorm by Sunday and the new work week. Temperatures will be bouncing back into the 90s with heat indices approaching 100 degrees next week.
