BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

The Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office's Young Marines held a change of command ceremony Wednesday at their facilities on Cox Street.

Instructor Lavaro Ramey replaced Dep. Steve Hoff as commander of the local program. Hoff, an 8-year-veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and BPSO deputy for four years, has been commander for the past 2.

Ramey recently retired from the Marine Corps as a first sergeant with more than 21 years of service. He's been working with the Young Marines for the past couple years.

Hoff received a plaque courtesy of Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington.
