BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Officials were in downtown Birmingham on Wednesday for groundbreaking for a local museum to honor the players of the Negro Baseball League.

The facility will be located next to Regions Field and Railroad Park. It will be two stories and include a restaurant and a theater.

Mayor William Bell says this is about showing gratitude for the members of the league.

There is no word on when the museum will officially open. We'll let you know when you can go check it out.
