Two men, child dead in vehicle wreck in McCurtain County, OK
Three people are dead after a one-vehicle crash Monday just east of Idabel in McCurtain County, OK.
MCCURTAIN COUNTY, OK (KSLA) -
A one-vehicle wreck Monday morning in SE Oklahoma left three people dead and two females with serious injuries.
State troopers said a 1999 Ford driven by Johnny Ray Collum, 24 of Broken Bow, traveling west on SH 3 crossed the center line of the highway and off the left hand side of the road, skidding and hitting a culvert.
The wreck happened about 11:30 a.m. about 8 miles east of Idabel. The last victim was freed from the vehicle at 12:48 p.m.
There were four passengers in Collum's vehicle: Natasha Dawn Gamble, 30 of Idabel; her son Devin Chesney, 12 of Idabel; her daughter Sarah Lester, 10 of Idabel; and Kenneth Odell Gann, 24 of Heavener.
Collum, Chesney and Gann were pronounced dead at the scene. No one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.
Gamble was airlifted to CHRISTUS St. Michael's hospital in Texarkana in serious condition with internal and external injuries to her belly and arm injuries. The chopper she was taken in later made an emergency landing in Bowie County, Texas due to mechanical problems.
Lester was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas in critical condition with external and internal injuries to her belly and head injuries.
No one was ejected from the vehicle. Troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash and Collum's condition when it happened.
