SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police have identified the man who showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound early Monday morning.

Police say around 2:30 a.m. 21-year-old Anthony White arrived at Willis-Knighton North with a gunshot wound to his stomach. He told police that he was shot on West Canal Street.

Police believe White may have been involved in a dispute where he and a group of men were shooting at each other near the 6000 block of West Canal Street.

Shortly after midnight Monday, police were called to the 2900 block of Grassmere Street to reports of shots being fired in that area. Officers were not able to locate any suspects when they arrived at that scene.

Two hours later authorities received a second call reporting that shots were fired near the 3000 block of Parkridge Street. White arrived at Willis-Knighton North a short time after that second call, which led investigators to believe that he was involved.

Authorities are working to gather information about the shooting and suspects. Anyone with information is urged to call Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or visit www.lockemup.org.
