TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Anna Judd is running across American to raise money for Team Red, White and Blue and the Wounded Warrior Project.

Judd made it to Tuscaloosa Friday at Wagner's run walk in Midtown Village and talked with FOX6 about why she's doing this walk.

"We need to take care of [veterans], I feel like that's our duty, because they've already paid the price," said Judd.

On average Judd runs and walks about three miles a day, five days a week. That's a little more than a full marathon. The goal is to run to New York City.

According to her website, Anna's run is considered an art performance piece demonstrating that regardless of political ideologies, when communities come together, the individual becomes empowered.

She believes physical activity and social bonding are the main solutions to depression, anxiety, insomnia and PTSD. Our motto is "Apathy is the Enemy."
