SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Police say a Shreveport man is lucky to be alive Wednesday night after being grazed by a bullet in the head.

Officers found the victim near the intersection of Summers and Dowdell streets just after 6 p.m.

Police say the man is in his mid 20s, and was bleeding from the back of his head after a bullet just grazed his skull.

Paramedics did check him out but he refused to be taken to the hospital.

Police say the victim claims he was just walking down the street when he was shot but they're getting conflicting reports of what exactly happened.

Police later learned that an argument led to a fight at which time 24-year-old Jarakeem Williams allegedly punched 27-year-old Prince Hill. After the fight, Hill reportedly pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds in alleged attempts to frighten Williams.  During the shooting, Williams was grazed in the head by a bullet.

Both men were arrested following the shooting.

Williams was charged with a single count of simple battery. Hill was charged with the illegal use of a weapon.
