BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

The North Louisiana Economic Partnership, and Dallas-based company SB International announced a $32.5 million investment in Bossier City.

SB INternational will renovate, and expand the former Northwest Pipe Company plant. It's a move they say will generate 82 direct jobs at salaries of $50,000 per year. They expect 290 other indirect jobs, that include construction as well.

The plant manufactures pipes used for oil and gas drilling, and pipelines, and that means big bucks coming into North Louisiana.

"The plant is already up and running. It's already in expansion mode," said Satish Gupta, CEO of SB International. "I think in the next 30 to 60 days, we will try to move into phase two of the process, which is increasing productivity."

Gupta said that the plant will remain functioning as is while they figure out how this plant will benefit the company the most. He expects expansion, renovations and construction to start next year.
