NPSO arrests three suspects in vacant house burglaries

NATCHITOCHES PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's detectives have arrested three people in connection with a series of thefts targeting vacant houses.

Deputies say on Friday, May 9th at around 12:22 p.m., the NPSO Patrol Division responded to a reported residential burglary and theft in the 400 block of Freeman Loop near Robeline, LA. Deputies say upon their arrival, they spoke with the caretaker of the property and learned the house was vacant. Deputies say someone had forced their way into the house and an outside shed.

Deputies say the items stolen included an antique clock, a red metal box containing a soldering kit, as metal windmill replica and a Craftsman 42-inch riding lawn mower worth $1200.

Two weeks later, on Sunday, May 25th around 11:54 p.m., the NPSO Patrol Division responded to a second reported theft in the 400 block of Freeman Loop. Deputies say a Frigidaire air conditioner window unit worth about $600 was stolen.

On Sunday, June 8th just before 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to a reported theft in the 9700 block of La. Hwy 120 near Robeline, LA. Deputies say while talking with the complainant, they learned that a Goodman four-ton central air unit had been removed from a exterior slab, an outboard motor and a Samsung cellular telephone, all worth about $4500, were stolen.

In each case, NPSO Patrol Deputies obtained information, completed offense reports and forwarded the reports to the NPSO Criminal Investigations Division. Detectives began their investigation and on June 9th received information that led them to three suspects identified as Buckey Adams, Laci Rae Hayes, and Teri Gwen McPherson.

 

Investigators issued warrants for all three suspects.

  • Adams, 46, was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on June 10th and charged with two counts of felony theft.
  • McPherson, 36, was arrested by Sabine Parish deputies on June 11th and transferred to the Natchitoches Detention Center charged with three counts of felony theft 
  • Hayes, 29, was arrested by Sabine Parish deputies on June 11th and transferred to the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with three counts of felony theft.

Most of the stolen merchandise has been recovered in Sabine Parish according to Chief Investigator Greg Dunn.
