SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Police are searching for a man who allegedly attacked a woman in South Shreveport Sunday night.

Shreveport police say around 10:45 p.m. a woman was about to enter her home in the 9400 block of Boxwood Drive when she was forced inside at gunpoint by a man who then hit her in the face and head with an open hand. The victims says the man then tied her hands with some type of cable cord. The woman says that's when she began to struggle with the man until she was able to hit him with a lamp. She says she was able to escape and call police. The woman says she had just met the man while she was at her job.

Police say the woman did have blood on her face and a torn shirt but did not want to be treated.

Police say the attacker is described as 5'11" with a muscular build, black hair and green eyes. He was driving a new model black Dodge pickup truck. Police say the attacker should be considered armed and dangerous.
