Ascension officials arrest two men for home burglaries

ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

Two men have been arrested in Ascension Parish for two home burglaries and other charges.

Deputies were dispatched to the Ascension Trace Subdivision in Darrow on June 12. A caller told deputies that one Black male with a handgun was dropped off by another Black male who was driving a blue Truck that contained a bag with long guns in it.

Deputies found one suspect removing a dirt bike from a residence on Fitzgerald Drive. The suspect was caught armed with a handgun and later identified as Brannon Ellis, 18.

Deputies patrolled the area and found the truck in the driveway on Hemingway Drive. They saw two Black males who took off running. Later, the deputies heard movement in the attic of the residence and located Steven Joseph, 19.

Both men were arrested and charged with simple burglary, illegal weapons, criminal trespassing, damage to property, theft of firearms, and resisting an officer.

Both have been booked into the Ascension Parish jail.
