(CNN) - The year 2014 might be a record breaking year for auto recalls in the U.S.
The industry has recalled roughly one out of every 10 vehicles on the road, or 24.7 million vehicles so far.
That leaves it poised to shatter the 30.8 million vehicles recalled in 2004.
Some think GM's recent crisis might account for all the precautions. The company is responsible for 13.9 million recalls alone.
According to the Center for Auto Safety, recalls might slow down, but a spokesperson says the total could still come in at 35 million.
