FLINT, TX (KLTV) - Two toddlers were found unresponsive in a vehicle and one later died at a local hospital, according to the Smith County Sheriff's office.

The toddlers were found around 3p.m. Wednesday inside a vehicle outside a residence in the 18000 block of County Road 1100. A person called 9-1-1 to report the toddlers inside the vehicle.

EMS arrived and found two girls, ages three and four. The four-year-old was taken to a hospital, where she died. According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, the three-year-old was treated at the scene.

A justice of the peace said preliminary indications are that heat may be involved in the death of the child. Her body was sent for an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.

The sheriff's office said the details in the case are still unclear and is still being looked at by the criminal investigation division.
