Blasts kill 23 in northern Iraq

TUZ KHURMATU, IRAQ (Radio Free Europe/CNN) - In northern Iraq, at least 23 people were killed when two truck bombs struck the offices of Kurdish political parties on Monday.

The mayor of the town of Tuz Khurmatu said the first truck exploded in front of the offices of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Communist Party.

The second truck blew up after people gathered around the dead and wounded.

It was the second double-bombing targeting Kurdish political offices in as many days.

Ambulances were seen leaving the scene of the bombings. Trucks and cars were mangled in the deadly blasts. Debris was scattered at the site of the explosions.
