FAIRFIELD, AL (WBRC) -

Fairfield police say they have found a woman who ran away from the jail Friday afternoon.

Tanaka Germany 22, was arrested at the Burlington Coat Factory in Fairfield on Wednesday. She was wanted by Fairfield police on outstanding warrants, but Police Chief Leon Davis did not say what the warrants were for.

Germany was booked into the Fairfield city jail on Wednesday. Around 12:20 p.m. on Friday, she was let out of her cell to take a shower. After her shower, she was being escorted back to her cell when police say she made a mad dash for the door and got away.

The police chief says Germany was caught in the city of Birmingham in the Wenonah area.

Chief Davis said they will seek a felony escape warrant against her. She was arrested without incident Friday evening.
