BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Police have arrested a Shreveport man in connection with an armed robbery earlier this week at a Bossier City motel.

The U.S. Marshal's Violent Offenders Task Force arrested 35-year-old Lamar Jose Sheppard at his home Wednesday. Sheppard is charged with armed robbery with use of a firearm.

Police allege that on Monday evening, Sheppard held up the Rodeway Inn and Suites in the 3000 block of Hilton Drive where he demanded money from the motel clerk while brandishing a firearm. He then fled the scene with a second unidentified suspect.

The second suspect is described as a slender black man about 5'8" to 5'10" tall, who was wearing blue jeans, a black and red jacket and white tennis shoes at the time of the robbery.

Sheppard was booked into CCC and is awaiting transfer to Bossier City.

The hotel clerk was not injured during the robbery.
