A drug bust this past Saturday at a Shreveport home netted some shocking items including nearly 2,000 bars of silver.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator said the DEA Task Force and Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit arrested Sloan Jackson, 38 after executing a search warrant of his home at 3129 Woodlawn Avenue.

The team found about 1 pound of methamphetamine inside a wax candle. They also seized three baggies of meth, a small amount of marijuana, various vials filled with suspected steroids, syringes, meth pipes, drug scales, Lortabs, vials of other unknown substances and six baggies of unknown powder substances.

Among other items police think may have been stolen were 150 1-ounce silver bars in a box. Deputies said the bars may also have been used to launder drug money.

They also found two chainsaws, a welding machine, a Keurig coffee maker, two Fridigaire air conditioner units, four generators, one computer, an electric smoker, a leaf blower, a Samsung entertainment system, a credit card maker and printer and about $2,400 in cash. These items may also have been stolen, deputies said.

The investigation continued at another location and resulted in the seizure of 1,702 more 1-ounce silver bars. A CPSO report said these are worth about $35,000.

Micah Vanness, a neighbor who lives a few doors down from Jackson, says he an idea something wasn't right on Jackson's house.

"Something was kind of fishy. They always had somebody outside with the trunk open," said Vanness.

Another neighbor, who did not want to be indentified, says she was shocked when she heard there was a drug bust so close to her home.

"Oh my gosh, oh my goodness I'm just absolutely shocked," she said.

Jackson was arrested for various drug related charges including possession of schedule II with the intent to distribute, possession of over 400 grams of methamphetamine and two counts of possession of schedule III CDS.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator urges anyone who bought drugs from Jackson to turn themselves in.

"If you did buy dope from Sloan Jackson, I'd suggest that you go ahead and call down here and turn yourself in because if we have to come get you it's going to be worse," said Prator.

Jackson is being held at the CCC.

Members of the Caddo Sheriff's Office were also involved in the arrest.
