A natural gas main break Wednesday morning in Shreveport's Allendale neighborhood has been repaired.
Residents who had been evacuated have been able to return to their homes by the afternoon.
The leak happened around 10 a.m. at the corner of Pierre Avenue and Templeman Street while city crews were working on a water main valve there and punctured a natural gas line.Centerpoint Energy shut off the gas just before noon, affecting about 14 customers.
A spokesperson for the city's water and sewer department says that 'Dig Safe' procedures were followed, and the cause of the gas line puncture will be investigated.
