Shreveport police are investigating an odd potential health risk in their own home.
This week the department received complaints about unusual debris and a strange odor inside police headquarters.
But according to the police department they've got things under control.
"We want to dispel any rumors," said Cpl. Marcus Hines. "There aren't just hundreds of bats flying around. We're not checking bats here and there.
"These bats are nocturnal. They are basically outside of the wall area inside the assembly room and that's the primary area we're focusing on," he said.
A pest control vendor says the bats could present a health risk to employees.
All of the employees from the area have been moved to a safe facility.
Police and SPAR officials are discussing what additional steps to take.
