Woman drives car into Bossier City apartment

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

In Bossier City Tuesday night a driver who hit the gas pedal instead of the brake sent her vehicle into a ground floor apartment.

Bossier City police say about 7:40 p.m. a woman's Ford Explorer went through a window at the Fountain Lakes Apartments in the 3300 block of E. Texas Street.

On the other side of that window, a man was asleep in his apartment. He was shaken up and taken to Willis-Knighton Health Center in Bossier to be checked out, complaining of head pain.

Police say they were unable to give the driver a ticket or anything for the crash, since it happened on private property. However, witness information led police to determine that she was driving without a driver's license, and she was ticketed for that.

The vehicle is still at the scene but has been backed away from the building. A hole where the window was installed is being boarded up.
