SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Hollywood actor is getting a lot of feedback online after inadvertently criticizing Shreveport in the middle of what he intended to be a motivational video.

Tyrese Gibson, who has had roles in major movie franchises like "Transformers" and "2 Fast 2 Furious", posted a nearly 20 minute video to his Facebook page on Sunday.

His mention of Shreveport comes about 10 minutes in.

"If you live in the middle of the jungle in freakin' Shreveport, Louisiana some damn where in the middle of nowhere, no disrespect to Shreveport. I love my fans out there,  but if you're an actress or a model or somebody looking to do something impactful, ain't nobody gonna find your *** in no Shreveport.  Come on man.  Out of sight, out of mind," says Gibson.

The post has since been shared more than 60,00 times and garnered more than 15,500 comments.

Even Shreveport's mayor is speaking out about the video. Mayor Cedric Glover tweeted after watching Tyrese's video that he respects the actor's desire to inspire and motivate. Mayor Glover went on to say that he disagrees with Tyrese's description of Shreveport or any other non-Los Angeles city as "the jungle." Mayor Glover also tweeted that "some places are launching pads for genius."

After backlash from fans on Twitter, Tyrese shared this response, saying that he just picked a random city that seemed far from Los Angeles adding the hashtag "No offense."
