(WMC) - A young girl was rescued from a pool Saturday afternoon after neighbors say she was submerged for a couple of minutes, losing consciousness.

Around 2:30 p.m., Memphis Police and Fire Departments responded to the home in the 1200 block of Harbert Avenue.

Residents say the young girl went into the deep end and took on too much water. Luckily, a 14-year-old girl pulled her to safety and performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

The family told WMC Action News 5 that the child was taken in an ambulance to LeBonheur, and that she will be ok.
