TEXARKANA, AR (KSLA) -

Police say the search is ongoing for an inmate who escaped from a Texarkana area prison Saturday afternoon.

Authorities say 20-year-old Derek Stills apparently broke and ran when prisoners were being taken to the exercise yard at the Southwest Arkansas Community Correction Center in Texarkana, AR.

As of Sunday afternoon he remains at large.

The facility houses non-violent offenders. Stills was serving 2 years there on a conviction for possession of drug paraphernalia. He had been there for just weeks, since being transferred from Van Buren County.

Local police, the Miller County Sheriff's Office and Arkansas State Police are assisting prison officials in the search. The search was initially centered near downtown Texarkana, where a resident reported spotting the escapee running. "He was just jogging, dude. I thought it was a man out jogging."

Still is described as a white male, 5'9" and 198 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and yellow pants. Anyone with information is urged to contact their local police department.

It's called white spot syndrome virus and it was first discovered in Thailand, but somehow it made its way to ponds in South Louisiana and specialists are struggling to find the funds to research a solution.  “The catch was increasing and increasing and then it dropped 70% and that's when you saw the dead crawfish floating in the water,” said a crawfish farmer of 34 years, Ian Garbarino.
