SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A Shreveport man is behind bars, charged with a home invasion that left a woman injured Monday night.

Police say it was 35-year-old Marques Dorsey that tracked his estranged wife down and assaulted her on Monday night.

The woman told investigators that she had been visiting with friends when Dorsey showed up. She says she ran to a nearby house in the 200 block of St. Luke Street to try to get away from him, but he kicked in the door and assaulted her.

Officers were called to the house just before 9 p.m. that night, but Dorsey had already fled the scene.

Investigators later made contact with Dorsey, who turned himself in to police on Friday morning at police headquarters. He was interviewed and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on charges of criminal damage to property and home invasion, along with four unrelated traffic warrants.
