Furniture moved into the St. Jude Dream Home

METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) -

The St. Jude Dream Home is one step closer to show time. Workers unloaded a huge truck full of furniture Friday, ahead of next week's grand opening.

The St. Jude Dream Home opens for tours May 31 as ticket sales continue. St. Jude hopes to sell more than 10,000 tickets to raise money for pediatric cancer research.

Every room in the house on Poplar Street will be beautifully decorated with items from Cort furniture.

"I don't know if you've had anybody that's been to St. Jude or had a situation," said Debbie Borrello of Court Furniture. "I've had two cousins that had cancer and they've helped them immensely and it's a big special place and we really like to get out there in the community and it's a win-win for everybody.

The winner of the St. Jude dream home does not get to keep the furniture, but the home will be worth more than $500,000 once it is finished.

You can watch the giveaway on FOX 8 on June 29.
