BRIGHTON, Mich., May 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Luis Madeleno has joined FORTECH Products as chief operating officer (COO) with responsibility for the company's growing operations in the United States, Brazil, Mexico and the Asia Pacific region.
Madeleno previously served as COO for Sodecia Corporation's Asia-Pacific operations. Based in Brighton, FORTECH is a major provider of corrosion-resistant coatings, metal-forming lubricants and contract packaging services for the auto industry.
"Luis Madeleno brings a wealth of automotive experience to our management team, as well as a global perspective earned through assignments in Europe, the NAFTA region, South America and a number of countries in the Asia Pacific region," said Creighton Forester, FORTECH's CEO and president. In addition to Sodecia, Madeleno has held senior management positions at Benteler, General Motors and Delphi. At Benteler he managed key operations in South Africa, France, Spain and Turkey. Previously he had worked with General Motors and Delphi with management assignments in Brazil, Indonesia, Germany, Poland, Russia and Thailand.
A native of Lisbon, Portugal, Madeleno holds a law degree from Portugal's Lisbon University and a master's degree in business administration from the Catholic University of Lisbon. Fluent in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish, he also has studied at Dartmouth University's Tuck Business School and Michigan State University.
Madeleno currently lives in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
