Pelicans pick goes to 76ers in NBA Draft Lottery

Updated:

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The New Orleans Pelicans will not make a selection in this year's NBA draft unless a trade is made.

With a slim chance of making the top 3, the Pelicans were given the 10th overall pick, which will go to the Philadelphia 76ers as part of a trade that took place during the 2013 NBA Draft. As a result, the Pelicans have no picks in the 2014 NBA Draft.

The full 2014 NBA Draft lottery order is as follows:

1. Cleveland Cavaliers

2. Milwaukee Bucks

3. Philadelphia 76ers

4. Orlando Magic

5. Utah Jazz

6. Boston Celtics

7. Los Angeles Lakers

8. Sacramento Kings

9. Charlotte Hornets

10. Philadelphia 76ers

11. Denver Nuggets

12. Orlando Magic

13. Minnesota Timberwolves

14. Phoenix Suns

In exchange for the 2014 first-round pick as well as last year's 6th overall pick, Nerlens Noel, the Pelicans received All-Star Point Guard Jrue Holiday and 2nd round guard Pierre Jackson. Jackson ended the season in Turkey after setting the NBA D-League single game scoring record with 58 points.

Holiday averaged 14.3 points per game, 7.9 assists per game, and 1.6 steals per game in 34 games played with the Pelicans last season. His season was cut short by a stress fracture in his right tibia.

Rookie center Nerlens Noel has yet to play in the NBA after tearing his ACL while playing college basketball.
