Shreveport man arrested after Tuesday morning car jacking

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport man was early arrested Tuesday morning in connection with a car jacking in West Shreveport.

David King, 20 of the 4300 block of St. Louis Avenue, has been charged with three counts of aggravated battery. Police said he was involved in a car jacking early Tuesday morning near his home.

A victim told officers he was standing outside a home around 3 a.m. with friends when they were approached by three men, allegedly armed with handguns.

He said he was hit in the face by one of the three, who then drove off in a vehicle belonging to one of the victims, according to police.

None of the victims was seriously injured.

Police said they found the victim's stolen car parked at his home. They gathered evidence tying King to the crime. He was found at his home and taken into custody.

King has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
