On Friday, you'll likely see more bikes on the road as part of National Bike-to-Work Day. It's not just about your health, but about the city's health as well by cutting down on pollution and easing up on traffic.
Nashville has a growing biking community and a growing number of places to ride.
There are 75 miles of greenway trails, and Metro plans to add several miles of trails each year.
"The greenways have green bike programs where you can rent a bike and ride around the greenways. We have a great greenway system that's continuing to develop," said Liz Thompson, executive director of Walk-Bike Nashville.
Biking is a low-impact sport, so if you're recovering from an injury, it's something you can do. Doctors say it also reduces stress.
