Shreveport police say an attempted traffic stop ended with a crash leaving one man seriously injured and another on the run.
Police say just before 9:45 p.m. officers attempted to stop a dark colored Mercury Mountaineer on Creswell Avenue near Wilkinson Street. As officers approached the SUV, the driver sped off.
Shortly after, the driver of the SUV lost control and crashed into three telephone poles near the intersection of Kings Highway and Creswell Avenue. According to police, the car was traveling very fast, hit the poles and blew a transformer. One of those poles was snapped nearly in half.
One man inside the car was ejected during the wreck and was taken to
University Health Shreveport with serious injuries. The victim's name has not been released.
Police say another man inside the SUV reportedly ran away from the scene. Police are still searching for him. Witnesses say they saw a man wearing dark clothing running from the scene.
