Child struck by Oak Grove police vehicle

OAK GROVE, KY (WSMV) -

An 11-year-old child was struck and injured after apparently running in front of an Oak Grove police vehicle Monday evening.

Kentucky State Police say the incident was reported just before 5:30 p.m. along KY 911 at Tyler Street.

KSP says Ofc. Clevin Robinson, 28, was driving a 2012 Ford Explorer police cruiser when the child, identified as Justin Robertson, crossed in front of the SUV.

The boy was airlifted to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in stable condition.

KSP is investigating the incident.

    The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash in George County. Three children were killed in the crash. Troopers said a green 2003 Kia Optima was heading east on Highway 198, east of Depot Road, shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
