BOONE CO., KY (FOX19) -

Boone County is rolling out a new alert system to make Northern Kentucky residents feel safer.

Officials said CodeRed will prepare the community for area evacuation notices, severe weather, bio-terrorism threats, boil water notices and missing child reports. If all goes well, emergency crews will be provided with the ability to deliver messages to targeted areas or the entire county.

The new warning system will be tested at 1 p.m. Monday. To sign up, visit https://public.coderedweb.com/CNE/BF21624CDC82
