Traffic flowing again along Clyde Fant after woman with gun surrenders

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Traffic is flowing again Sunday night along a Shreveport highway after police blocked off the road just south of Hamel Memorial Park.

According to police, a woman armed with a gun fired multiple shots into the air earlier tonight. No one was harmed, but the woman remained in a standoff with officers for a little more than an hour.

She stood by the edge of the woods along Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway until crisis negotiators were able to convince her to lay down her gun and surrender.

Two other people were near her, and police believe they were trying to talk her and convince her to lay down the gun.

The woman is now safe and unharmed. Hines was not immediately certain if she would be charged.
