SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The legendary Louisiana Hayride returned to the stage of Shreveport's Municipal Auditorium on Friday night for an evening of live entertainment featuring Cole Vosbury, Dez Duron, Willie Jones, the Louisiana Hayride Band and much more.

Louisiana Attorney Buddy Caldwell also presented a tribute to Elvis Presley, who got his start on stage at the landmark building.

The weekly Louisiana Hayride program began in April 1948, and became known as "The Cradle of the Stars" because of all the international stars began their careers on the program. Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Johnny Horton, are just a few of the acts that also went on to stardom after performing on The Louisiana Hayride.

The show helped put Shreveport on the map. The historic Auditorium recently re-opened after being closed for more than a year for a multi-million dollar renovation project.

Proceeds from the evening will go to the Louisiana Hayride Foundation, Community Renewal International and Pet Savers of Shreveport.
