SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police has confirmed that a 10-year-old girl reported missing since Thursday afternoon was found safe Friday morning.

Police say Makaylah Haywood was reported missing by her family after she did not return home from her school bus stop. Haywood reportedly got off the bus around 3:40 p.m. on Barrett Street near the Wilkinson Terrace Apartments in the 2700 block of Southern Avenue where she lives.

Police say Haywood was seen on the apartment complex's surveillance camera running northbound on the sidewalk towards Barrett Elementary School as a person who appears to be a juvenile male was seen riding a bike behind her as she was running. Haywood is then seen approaching the intersection of Barrett and Wilkinson streets as a white, four-door sedan pulls up and stops at the intersection. As the surveillance camera switched angles, Haywood is last seen approaching the direction of the vehicle; however it was not captured on video if she ever got into the car.

The white car was caught on camera speeding off down Barrett Street towards Kings Highway.

Police have not yet released details on where Haywood was found or if she has reunited with her family.  Stay with KSLA News 12 for updates on this developing story.
