The former ArkLaTex deputy considered armed and dangerous and at the center of a nearly 24-hour manhunt has been moved to a jail in Bossier Parish.
34-year-old Jeffery Humphries was wanted for 3 counts of molestation of juveniles in Bossier. He left his job as a DeSoto Parish Sheriff's deputy in April.
Wednesday evening, state police searched a building in Minden where Humphries' attorney Eric Johnson has an office. Troopers suspected he may have been there, but did not find him, though they did find an unexplained broken window.
Dixie Inn police reportedly took Humphries into custody at a truck stop just after 3 p.m. Thursday. That's along I-20 in Webster Parish. Employees there reportedly recognized him as a suspect wanted by state police. State police say Humphries was taken into custody without any problems.
Humphries was later taken to the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center in Webster Parish for booking. He is now locked up at the Bossier Maximum Security Facility as of Friday morning.
