SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A teen is back in custody after briefly escaping from a Shreveport police officer early Thursday afternoon.

It started just before noon with a report of a burglary at a home in the 2700 block of Bibb Street. It ended with a police K9 bringing the teen suspect down around the corner from the city jail with a few bites to the leg.

Police say the teen was one of three taken into custody after officers were called to the home in Shreveport's Sunset Acres neighborhood. While an officer was taking one of those handcuffed suspects out of the police car and into the jail on Hope Street, Cpl. Marcus Hines said the teen spun out of the officer's grip and ran.

That teen was taken to University Health Shreveport for treatment of the bits from the police K9 that tracked him down in the bushes near the corner of Butler and Milam streets.

Police arrested 19-year -old Ty'shon Sower of Texas City, Texas, 18-year-old Tyren Willis of Shreveport, along with a 16-year-old, also of Shreveport. The three suspects were charged with a single count each of burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

The 16-year-old also got an extra charge of simple escape.
