A short manhunt on Wednesday morning lead to the arrest of a 24-year-old man wanted for murder.
Nigel Pitts was arrested Wednesday, charged with the murder of 68-year-old Lee Henley.
On the evening of May 4, Henley was found dead in his Avondale apartment. Officers were called to the 3500 block of Alaska Avenue around 8 p.m. Police say the initial investigation led officers to believe Henley died of natural causes. However, officials say it was later discovered Henley was killed.
Authorities say they later identified Pitts as the suspect; a man whose last known address was the same apartment building in which Henley was found dead.
Officials issued a warrant for his arrest on Wednesday morning. Police arrested Pitts a short time later.
Pitts is set to appear in court at 9 a.m. Thursday.
