A Shreveport student was arrested Monday afternoon for allegedly taking weapons to school.

Police arrested an 11-year-old boy just after 1 p.m. at the Alexander Learning Center in the 1500 block of Coty Street. School officials told police that he had been seen with a stun gun and a utility style knife on the campus.

Police said the student was seen holding the stun gun during class, though no students or faculty were injured. He has been charged with illegal carrying of a weapon.
