Law enforcement have a closed a portion of Highway 80 in Harrison County after an accident involving a train and an 18-wheeler.

The collision happened around 7:16 a.m. Monday at the rail crossing at Shady Brook Lane near Hallsville in front of Trinity Industries. The Department of Public Safety said an 18-wheeler was exiting Trinity Industries, attempting to turn left onto Highway 80 when a train collided with it.

The impact sent the 18-wheeler into a utility pole, causing a downed power line. Southwestern Electric Power Company shut down power in the area due to the downed line. The utility pole will have to be replaced before power can be restored to the area. About 100 customers are being impacted by the outage, but SWEPCO expects to have power returned before 3 p.m.

The train has now been moved and both lanes of Highway 80 have reopened.

No injuries have been reported.

Union Pacific Railroad said the train had 69 cars and was transporting various types of freight.
