More than 1,200 students graduate from Cincinnati State

1,228 students on Sunday received diplomas from Cincinnati State.

The majority of degrees were awarded to the Business Technologies Division, 368 in total, followed by 332 degrees in Health and Public Safety.

Cincinnati's Mayor John Cranley addressed the graduates at the commencement ceremony held at Xavier's Cintas Center.

P&G's former CEO John Pepper awarded honorary degrees with Alfonso Cornejo, president of the Hispanic Chamber of Cincinnati. 

Kenneth Stoll, a lifelong Cincinnati resident, Cincinnati State graduate and current faculty member received the Distinguished Alumni Award. Stoll was a valedictorian of the first Cincinnati State graduating class in 1968 and is currently the Dean of the Engineering and Technologies Division.

    16-year-old Raven Little-White died in August, after a boating accident on Lake Waccamaw. The medical examiner’s report lists “drowning” as the probable cause of death, but a toxicology report that came back later revealed Raven had actually succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning.
