RECIPE: Django Western Taco's guacamole & margarita
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
Django Western Taco in Northside will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with $5 margaritas, $20 margarita pitchers, $5 guacamole, tequila and lime cheesecake.
Executive Chef Andrew Mersmann made the restaurant's delicious guacamole and Strawberry & Basil Margarita Sunday morning on FOX19. Check out the recipe below.
2/3 cup chopped red onion
5 oz shredded or julienned radish
2/3 cup salsa verde (home made, store bought or purchase
2 Tbsp chopped cilantro
1/3 cup lime juice
1-2 Tbsp small diced jalapeno
Scoop and seed avocados. Put all ingredients in a bowl
and mash to desired consistency (we like ours a little chunky).
Strawberry & Basil Margarita Recipe (1 pitcher):
22 oz margarita mix (11 oz strawberry puree, 5.5 oz simple
syrup, 5.5 oz lime juice)
8 oz tequila
4-6 large basil leaves (chiffonade or rough chop)
Take a small amount of ice in a cocktail shaker and shake
basil with ice thoroughly to release basil flavor into the ice.
Place basil infused ice into pitcher. Add 8 oz. tequila (more or less
depending on your mood). Add margarita mix and stir thoroughly until all
flavors are incorporated. Rim glasses with salt/sugar mix, pour over ice,
serve with slice of lime.
