A Parkway High School substitute teacher has been arrested, accused of having sexual relations with a 17-year-old Parkway student earlier this month in Haughton.
According to the Bossier Sheriff's Office, 29-year-old Chelsea A. Alexander was arrested by summons Monday afternoon and charged with prohibited sexual conduct between educator and student.
Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.4 took effect in 2009 and prohibits sexual conduct between an educator and a student when the student is between the years of 17 and 21 and the age difference of the educator and student is greater than four years. The misdemeanor crime is punishable with a fine up to $1,000 and/or imprisonment for not more than six months.
