Detectives with the New Orleans Police Department arrested a man, wanted for several auto burglaries in the Audubon neighborhood. The incidents occurred Saturday morning in the 5500 and 6000 blocks of Coliseum Street and the 1100 block of Webster Avenue.
According to police, a 2013 Maserati, a 2013 Land Rover and a 2014 Audi were taken from the locations. The keys were left inside of each vehicle taken. Saturday evening, police attempted to pull over the Audi for a traffic violation, when a brief chase ensued. The driver, identified as 17-year-old Devin Rhinehart, was taken into custody and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.
Detectives believe that Rhinehart was one of multiple perpetrators, responsible for taking the vehicles. Police believe that he and his co-perpetrators are responsible for as many as four car thefts in the area and possibly more.
