SPD investigates series of ATM thefts

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police are searching for at least two people who are responsible for a series of ATM thefts Wednesday morning.

Two break-ins have been confirmed at ATMs located on Linwood Avenue and 84th in the Cedar Grove neighborhood and in Shreve City.

The first break-in happened just before 1:40 a.m. at the Save-A-Lot on 84th Street. Police say they are reviewing surveillance video from this store. Police say the thieves were wearing all black clothing and white gloves carrying crow bars and hammers. Investigators say the thieves broke into ATM within minutes. An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

The second break-in happened around 2:15 a.m. at a business at Captain Shreve Drive and Preston Avenue. Police also say the thieves broke into the ATM at that location within minutes.

Police say they are still reviewing surveillance video from both businesses. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 318-673-7373.
