Man wanted for armed robbery near Tulane's campus

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Detectives with the New Orleans Police Department are investigating an armed robbery that happened near Tulane's Uptown Campus. It happened Monday at 10:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Palmer Avenue.

According to police, someone affiliated with the school was walking in the 2500 block of Palmer when a man got out of a parked white Crown Victoria and approached the victim holding a two to three inch knife.

The suspect demanded the victim's property and escaped with the victim's bag, which contained an Iphone, an Ipad and a laptop. The suspect fled northbound on Palmer Avenue.

He is described as a black man approximately six feet tall. The white Crown Victoria had black wheels and a possible Louisiana license plate.
