Natchitoches man arrested in father's stabbing death

NATCHITOCHES PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A Natchitoches man was arrested Monday for allegedly fatally stabbing his father on Friday.

Natchitoches police say 39-year-old Lawrence Monette reportedly stabbed his father, 63-year-old Colton "Pete" Monette, in the chest with a pocket knife. Police say it all happened around 5 p.m. Friday, April 25th on Lake Street near the Highway 1 bypass in Natchitoches.

Colton Monette was taken to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Lawrence Monette was taken to Natchitoches Parish Detention Center and charged with second degree murder.
